This Week(end) at the Tierra Vegetables Farm

Hi all,

There has been lots going on at the farm the past few days: transplanting Cabbages, Tomatoes, Yellow Storage Onions,  seeding some of the early Heirloom  Beans, Corn and Popcorn! Here is a link to Facebook if you'd like to see a few pictures: http://www.facebook.com/TierraVegetables

Yes, the Strawberries have started. As long as the weather cooperates we should have Strawberries at the Farm Stand the next few days. They are sweet and succulent as usual. Come have a taste before you buy!

Here's more: Asparagus, English Peas and Sugar Snap Peas, Rhubarb, Green Garlic, Potatoes, a few Baby Summer Squash, Chard, Favas (we had our first Fava/ Asparagus combo the other night: delicious!), Broccoli Rabe, maybe some Arugula if it has gotten big enough the past few days......

EGGS, EGGS, EGGS!  Sounds like it's Vegetable Frittata Time!

Plant Starts. I am not sure what we will have but think we may have Tomatoes and Basil to name a few.

Have you had our Hominy yet? It is fresh and full of flavor. It is ready to eat as it is but cook it a bit more for a softer texture if you like. It's up to you!

More: Heirloom Corn Meals, Dried Beans, Dried and Smoked Chiles and Salts of amazing flavor, Chile Jams and a few remaining Hot Sauces are all waiting for you at the good ol' Tierra Vegetables Farm Stand this week(end). Join our Frequent Buyer program! Ask me how!

Weekly box info: If you love our vegetables (and strawberries) but can't make it out to the farm, you can pick up our vegetables at convenient drop off points in Santa Rosa and Healdsburg.  You also can pick up at the farm, of course, as most everyone does. Recipes are included with every box! We are filling up so please let me know if you want to sign up or need more info. Thanks.  Note that we can add more drop off sites if we have enough people interested. (I tried to add the PDF file of the flyer but can't figure out how to do it at the moment. Please let me know and I can e-mail you one.

Hope to see you all at the Farm. It's an exciting time with lots going on. Take time to go for a little walk out to see what is coming up as spring is finally arriving!

Thanks,

Evie
